Généalogie des Le Blancq descendants de l'Île Jersey
Ce site présente la généalogie des Le Blancq venant de l'Île Jersey
They are came by sea in sailling ships to their fortunes in a land far from home, many of them
as young as thirteen and fourteen years of age. They came to work with such companies as Charles Robin,
The LeBouthillier Bros, Fruings, Janvring & Janvring, LeMasurier and others beginning as early as the mid 1700's.
These young men for the most part, settled on the Gaspé Coast and married local girls, establishing
roots in Canada. Today, if one takes a look at any telephone directory it will be difficult to find one
community which does not contain at least one Channel Island name. Likewise, other Channel Islanders
came to work for Robin's in Nova Scotia and from there move up to Cheticamp, NB and other areas on the
Bay of Chaleur.
